Staying Motivated After Summer

Staying Motivated After Summer

As we roll into mid September, its getting a little bit colder outside, and darker earlier each day.

It’s been an awesome summer to be fair and I don’t think anyone can complain this year over here in the UK that we haven’t had our fair share of sun and hot weather.

But as summer draws to a close and autumn fast approaches, how is it possible to stay motivated to keep fit and in shape during the winter months?

Testosterone is the male hormone for responsible, for sex drive, building muscle and strength, and all round performance.

Testosterone is what gives us drive, energy and all our masculine features.

It really is a vital part of everything we do and its what makes a man, a man.

It's so important in fact that I wrote the first chapter on it in my book The Muscle & Hustle Method.

After the age of 25, testosterone levels tend to decrease.

By the time you're 40 testosterone levels could have dropped by at least 15%.

You may notice this in several ways, for example, less energy, reduced strength, and a lower sex drive to name some of the more obvious symptoms.

Visibly on your body you may notice a reduction in muscle mass and a tendency to store more body fat.

Here's the thing...

You don't have to accept this as a normal part of getting older, and the good news is you can slow down and even reverse the decline in your testosterone levels...

...without the use of medication or steroids.

Here's 3 Ways To Naturally Boost Testosterone Even If You're Over 40...

1/ Lift weights - Lifting weights is proven to naturally raise testosterone levels. And I don't mean just sitting on the chest press machine. Get yourself under the bar and do the big compound lifts like the squat, deadlift, and bench press.  These movements engage way more muscle, and in turn release more growth hormones like testosterone.

2/ Ditch the belly fat - The fatter you are, the higher your levels of oestrogen (the female sex hormone) and the lower your levels of testosterone are likely to be. In fact, you might not even consider yourself to be fat. But if you can grab a fist full or more of belly fat, this likely going to be having a negative impact on your testosterone levels.  Even if you're skinny everywhere else. Of course, the best way to reduce belly fat is to be in a calorie deficit. Eat less, move more.

3/ Reduce stress - This of course is easier said than done because stress is often caused by our life circumstances. So unless we can change those circumstances, its unlikely you'll completely eradicate stress all together. But what we can do is learn to manage stress levels. Some great ways of doing this would be to hit the gym, go for a walk, read a book, or something else you enjoy, that will allow you to switch off. Stress increases your cortisol levels, which inhibits your natural testosterone levels, so the less stressed we can be the better.

Give these a try and let me know your thoughts.
